Apr 28 | 6:30-8:30 PM | LAUNCH Student Event | La Cueva High School, 7801 Wilshire Ave NE, Albuquerque: Students and families are invited to a joint presentation by Cornell University, Emory University, Pomona College, Rice University and Washington University in St. Louis about their unique programs and outstanding financial aid.
Apr 28 + 30 | 6-7 PM | FREE College Exploration Course | La Farge Library, 1730 Llano Street, Santa Fe: Students are invited to join friend of ROCA and Davis NM, Peggy Jenkins, for this two-part college exploration session at the Santa Fe Library. Participants will learn how their interests, personal qualities, and goals can drive their college search process, as well as tools for identifying colleges that might be a good fit for them and their families. Peggy has been developing this course over the last 14 years specifically to support 10th and 11th graders as they begin their college search processes. Pizza will be provided!

May 20 | 6-7 PM | Financial Aid for Families: In this Coalition for College: In this Coalition for College webinar, Berea College, Mount Holyoke College, and Reed College will share actionable tips for how student supporters can guide conversations about cost, stay organized with requirements, and help students make informed choices.

Free resources from the College Essay Guy: The College Essay Guy’s website offers help with supplemental essays, the University of California application, the activities section, and has resources for counselors, too, like this notes doc from NACAC in September. You can also check out their youtube channel where you will find resources like this Common App Walkthrough video, as well as this recent session about essay coaching amidst AI and current admission trends.
Coalition for College Financial Aid Award Webinars: In Feb 2026, the Coalition offered two events for school counselors and college access advisors to learn about and deepen their understanding of financial aid. You can watch the recordings of both sessions.
